As we approach another roundup of your creative projects inspired by our patterns, I wanted to share some standout creations from the past couple of months. It feels like we're all navigating a unique period together, whether it's through quarantine or finding ways to stay connected while maintaining safe distances. Despite these challenges, it's heartening to see so many people expressing themselves through sewing.
I've gathered some Instagram highlights from March and April that really caught my eye. Grab a drink, get comfortable, and let these inspiring projects spark some ideas for your next sewing adventure!
Let’s start with some fantastic interpretations of Liesl + Co. patterns. We’ve seen a variety of garments made from our fall collections, particularly the Camp Shirt and Dress pattern. There are so many stylish pieces here that I wish I could add to my own wardrobe!
First up, check out this striped Maritime Knit Top by @birdstalkpatterns - such a timeless classic. Then there’s the pattern-matching magic on this banana-themed Classic Shirt by @hartlandquiltshop. @vpilles modeled her gray Terrace Dress without the belt, giving it a chic, minimalist look. @kmc.laowai created a perfectly tailored Camp Shirt in a cheerful floral print. And @moonlightseamstress made a Men’s Metro T-Shirt that looks destined for lots of wear. Meanwhile, @maryamsews crafted some versatile camel trousers using the Hollywood Trousers pattern.
But wait, there’s more! The Belgravia Knit Dress pattern has been getting a lot of attention. @barbara.crisp was quick to sew one up, and it looks fantastic. Another highlight is this Recital Shirt by @apinchofsewing - simply gorgeous! @mrscarlawarla’s Camp Shirt is not only beautifully made but also features an eye-catching color palette. @fionamakes is ready for summer with her breezy Breezy Blouse, while @annechrisk chose a lovely fabric for her shortened Gallery Tunic. @sewimpatient used a stunning watercolor flower print to create a Women’s Metro T-Shirt.
Moving on to Oliver + S, their hashtag has been brimming with incredible projects this spring. Many are making reversible bucket hats in anticipation of warmer weather, along with adorable Easter dresses. @melissalkruger’s Lullaby Layette bodysuit is just darling. @grapefruit.handmade put together a sweet coordinating shirt set as a baby gift, using the Metro T-Shirt pattern for mom and the School Bus T-Shirt pattern for both older siblings and the new arrival. Even a doll tee was made to match! @campandquarryknits crafted some charming dotted chambray Sunny Day Shorts. @barbaramciver5910 shared an array of pastel border-print Butterfly Blouse and Skirt sets that are absolutely delightful. And @sarahpmilloy made some lovely Bubble Dresses.
There’s even more to explore! @sweetpeaandpumkins created a springy embroidered Carousel Dress. @sewcountrychick’s Building Block Dress exudes a vintage charm. @happylittlehandmades’ Carousel Dress is pure cuteness. @sydney0707 used seersucker fabric for the Sailboat Pants pattern, while @swakrta’s Ruffled Halter evokes thoughts of sunny days and treats. Finally, @busyhandsidlemind made a trio of cute reversible bucket hats.
