The folk artisan re-weaves away the shalo

Ten years of trial production by Suzhou folk artisans, they finally figured out Luo’s weaving method, which was almost lost in the Silk Satin. The re-embroidered scarves have not only become designated gifts for the Beijing Olympics and Shanghai World Expo, but have also been selected as designated gifts for the upcoming Guangzhou Asian Games.

This folk weaver is a blessed person named Li Hailong. The author saw in his embroidery factory that several female weavers were hurrying to knit a batch of “cloth” before a special weaving machine. This "cloth" is the legendary Luo Luo silk satin. After these things are well-woven, they will be sent to the Guangzhou Asian Games. After passing the examination, they will be given as gifts to the foreign political lady.

Li Hailong said that silk and silky seafood are synonymous with luxury goods since ancient times, and Luo is a treasure of ancient silk fabrics. Its texture is light and thin. The ancients used to say “If it did not smoke, it really smoked”, “Yao Luoxian "The glimpse of the skin" praised the poem, has a silky slender, breathable and cool, elegant and non-sticky, strong three-dimensional characteristics, with elegant, beautiful cultural qualities. At the end of the Qing dynasty, with the entry of Western industrial civilization into China, Hualu, whose production process was complicated and inefficient, was gradually eliminated. The hualuo fabrics gradually disappeared and ancient technology was lost.

Because of his interest in fabrics, Li Hailong said that since 1994, he began research and development on leno, went to the museum to see cultural relics, went to the countryside to search for folk artists, went to the scientific research institutes to consult experts, and visited foreign countries on many occasions. The pain of failure. After more than 10 years of unremitting efforts, he finally mastered the leno weaving technology and succeeded in developing the "Rayra machine and its kneading process" to realize the weaving of the ancient leno. His craft also won the national technology invention patent granted by the State Intellectual Property Office.

Li Hailong's Luo Luo scarves were popular once they were introduced. The 26th World University Games next year has also finalized Suzhou Hua Luo as a special gift.
