H&M is proud to announce its latest collaboration with Lanvin, one of the most iconic and influential fashion houses of the 21st century. This exclusive collection, designed by Lanvin’s artistic director Alber Elbaz and his menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver, will be available starting November 23, 2010, in approximately 200 H&M stores worldwide. The line includes both men’s and women’s wear, offering a blend of elegance and accessibility that reflects the brand’s signature style.
The world premiere of the Lanvin for H&M collection will take place on November 2, followed by a three-week rollout across selected H&M locations. This highly anticipated collaboration is expected to generate significant excitement among fashion enthusiasts and is set to become one of the standout events of the year.
Alber Elbaz, Lanvin’s artistic director, shared his thoughts on the partnership: “H&M and we have worked closely to bring the legacy of Lanvin to a broader audience. While I once said I’d never design for a mass-market brand like Volkswagen, this opportunity allows H&M to embrace luxury rather than the other way around. It sparked my interest because it’s a unique challenge. Although our brands are different, we share a common vision of bringing beauty and joy to fashion lovers around the world. This collaboration is truly groundbreaking.â€
Margaret van den Bosch, H&M’s creative director, added: “Lanvin’s exclusive collection for H&M is incredibly exciting. It’s a moment we’ve been looking forward to. Lanvin brings a timeless French elegance to H&M, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern flair. Their designs are rich in detail, with a focus on tailored cuts and exquisite finishing—qualities that make the collection stand out. We’re confident that the launch in November will surprise and delight customers.â€
Alber Elbaz joined Lanvin in 2001, and since then, he has transformed the brand into a leading force in contemporary fashion. Under his leadership, Lanvin has redefined luxury, introducing elements like ribbons, bows, pearls, and intricate detailing that have become synonymous with the brand. His expertise in fabric and cut has given Lanvin a distinctive identity, making each piece instantly recognizable. In 2006, he also launched a successful menswear line that reimagined classic male fashion with a fresh, sophisticated approach.
This collaboration marks Lanvin as H&M’s most prestigious partner to date. Previous collaborations have included Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garçons, and Sonia Rykiel. Unlike previous campaigns, the Lanvin for H&M collection will be introduced through a specially created short film, premiering on November 2. Viewers worldwide can watch the film on www.hm.com, and three weeks later, the collection will be available for purchase in stores and online.
